Isla Mujeres also called “Bahia de Mujeres” (Island of Women) is an island where the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea meet, about 13 KM off the Yucatán Peninsula coast Mexico. 📷

7KM long and ONLY 650 mt. wide, This Tiny and beautiful Island is Known for beautiful white sand beaches, calm crystal clear turquoise waters and the friendliest locals in the Mexican Caribbean, With the beauty of the Caribbean, the heritage of the Mayans, and the easygoing charm of the people, Isla Mujeres has become a haven for people from all over the world.

It is located on the east of the Caribbean Sea with a strong surf and rocky coast, and to the west the skyline of Cancún can be seen across the waters. The namesake town on the island has a Barely population of 12,642.

The island was formerly served by Isla Mujeres National Airport, Nowadays, many locals, military personnel, and tourist using for jogging.

Isla Mujeres is considered to be one of the best places in the world to catch Sailfish

⭐Voyage Verdict’s Trip Report and Tips for Traveler’s⭐

Traveling to Cancun from India is a long long 42 Hours Journey with 3 Flight connections.

Cancun was my first stopover to Visit Chichen Itza-One of the Hidden Wonders of the world, My stay at Cancun was planned for 2 days, and I booked a Chichen Itza trip on the second day sod as to relax on first day.

My first day at Cancun was free and without and pre decide sites.

Hotel Selina Cancun is centre of Cancun hotel zone with walking distance of club “Bongo’ a famous for Hollywood movie ‘Mask’ Shooting.

Woke very late in afternoon cos of jet leg and after freshan up have decided to explore the local Cancun city. Beach is just few steps away from hotel and while roaming through the beach I found a very good option to visit tiny island Isla Mujeres.

1. Cancun Jetty and Beach Hotels.

There is one main ferry boat company (UltraMar) which runs to the island from Puerto Juárez, Cancun, or Gran Puerto on the mainland. There are also many party boats that make day trips to Isla Mujeres. The island is popular with day trippers, but activity quiets down in the evening after the tour groups leave. Cost 19US$

2.Journey to Isla Mujeres ⚓⛴⛴⚓

Its a approx. 45 Min Boat journey from Cancun to Isla Mujeres, its a full of fun sailing in blue Water.

3. Transportation in Isla Mujeres🛺🛴🚲🛵

Transportation on the island of Isla Mujeres consists primarily of taxis or golf carts and moped scooters. ,its a Fun driving a kart available on hourly basis.,

I WAS SOLO and doesn’t make sense to pay for a full Kart instead I waited for a while & got a free ride form one Canadian Couple. ☺😎😎😎😎🛺🛺

Isla Mujeres is also home to a population of sea turtles. Because of the recent endangerment of sea turtles in the area, a facility named Tortugranja was set up on the southern end of the island for their rehabilitation and breeding. This facility is open to the public at charge.

Punta Sur is located at the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, 20 meters above sea level, where the rising sun first touches Mexican soil. This is the highest elevation in Yucatan and the home to an ancient temple honoring the Mayan Moon Goddess

Reached Cancun around 7.00 PM, Cancun jetty is near to beautiful beach and luxarious all inclusive “Adult only Hotel.”

The beach was full of beautiful young local peole, I was tired after a full day trip and decided to explore mall insted at beach.

There is a big Shopping mall and convention cente just 200 Mt away from bewch.isited a Mall. It’s a huge mall with plenty of shopping option of luxary brands. I spent my time exploring food mall where many exotic vegetables fruits were on sale, also found one of the biggest and also some of rare collection of wine.
